Scandal in Greece Vaccination certificates are sold online.

Greece is facing another scandal related to vaccination passports, after a media investigation revealed that citizens are buying fake certificates online.

The scheme of buying fake passports, through social media in various groups such as Facebook or Instagram, is learned to have spread throughout Greece.The Prosecution of Kardhica opened an urgent investigation, after the denunciations that an employee of this medical center, had issued over 480 vaccination certificates against Covid 19, without being injected with the vaccine dose. The scandal seems to have included leaders of the health sector, while after the intervention of the Kardhica prosecutor's office, it was discovered that 40,000 vaccinations were performed in this center, while the population is only 6,000. No one can say for sure what happened, but government sources have expressed concern that it may be a large-scale scandal. A control group was immediately sent to the area, while by order of the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, all the staff of this medical center was suspended. In addition to false vaccinations, investigations are also underway to provide false certifications of PCR laboratory tests.In the coming days, criminal proceedings are expected to begin after the bank details of the nurse in question are revealed, while the involvement of other persons by the staff of the health center is being investigated. It is not even ruled out that criminal charges may be brought against those who have been vaccinated. The scandal was uncovered when at the end of the vaccination day at the Palamas Karditsa health center, two surplus vaccines were found. Thus, the investigation led to the discovery of certificates of vaccinated persons, in which it was found that there was no stamp and signature of the doctor, as defined in the regulations. As stated by Anna Mastorakou, vice president of the Panhellenic Medical Association, there is a lot of pressure on doctors and health workers for fake vaccination certificates, but also false positive tests to avoid vaccination, even the pressure increases as there are people who not only for ideological reasons, but also other reasons promise from 100-200 euros for a fake certificate. Meanwhile, the new Minister of Health has announced on Monday morning a new, stricter law that will include the criminal offense of fake vaccinations.
